With friendly counter-service, you will get a fresh, made-for-you meal. We use ingredients from our local bakeries and meat markets to prepare family favorites. Our menu includes burgers and sandwiches, bowls and baskets, local favorites (including poffertjes!), and ice cream. You will also want to keep an eye out for our seasonal specials!

FRESH FOODS, HEIRLOOM TASTE
In the early 1950s, Bill and Stella Huyser purchased the Clover Leaf Dairy on Washington Street in Pella. In the early 1980s their great-granddaughter Kelly Bandstra was milking cows on a dairy farm north of Monroe. Her aptitude for creativity in the kitchen started with mixing up cake batter on the kitchen floor. With free reign of the kitchen from her mom, and the help of the red-checked Better Homes and Garden cookbook, Kelly developed her skills. She began her working life in the hospitality industry waiting tables.
After a career from serving to managing restaurants for other people, Kelly and her family opened up on their own and started de Kelder Speakeasy in 2021, serving small bites and interesting cocktails in the basement. In 2022, they opened Clover Leaf Kitchen, doing light catering, box lunches, and take and bake freezer meals. They are excited to add Clover Leaf on Franklin, bringing a fast casual option to their food offerings.
